by Matt Kindt
After escaping her lethal pursuers the Immortals, our heroine Meru has finally met the elusive Henry Lyme. But before we can go on, Lyme does some explaining to Meru about his origin with the MIND MGMT.
We learn that MIND MGMT was a secret organization that started out by training children to be soldiers with their mind as a their weapon. We also begin to discern Lyme’s love interest and the blurry lines that can happen with being a MIND MGMT prodigy.
Kindt does another fantastic job on art in this book. His watercolors make the scenes and story feel magical and dreamy amongst the diabolical and evil content happening in panels.
The additional stories and MIND MGMT Field Guide tips once again further enrich Kindt’s eerie world of psychic espionage. Given the dolphin on the cover and the subject of the two side stories, there seemed to be a deliberate focus on animals this issue. While the focus didn’t pan out directly into the main story, it gave us an insight and just what sort of abilities our MIND MGMT agents are capable of in future issues.
